Dr Vikki Powell is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with specialist experience in treating trauma, stress, mood disorders, eating disorders and insomnia.
She works with clients to develop a personalised treatment plan that draws on evidence-based interventions. She offers a reassuringly professional and caring approach with an emphasis on positive personal change. This change is typically about reducing disturbance and increasing functioning, but also extends to strengthening your personal resilience and growth.
Dr Powell is qualified to use a range of recognised therapies to address the complexity of clients’ issues. These include:
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
• Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)
• CBT-I (Insomnia treatment)
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Dr Powell also offers clinical supervision to other psychologists and psychotherapists, having previously supervised clinical, counselling and forensic psychologists, and CBT therapists.
As well as her clinic at Rowan House, Dr Powell works with organisations and leaders to support their wellbeing and performance strategies, lectures in psychology at City University London, and is an accredited Executive Coach.
Dr Powell is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is an Associate Fellow of The British Psychological Society (BPS). Referrals for an initial consultation and/or regular therapy sessions can be made via your GP, insurance provider or by self-referral.
