Nutrition

As a Nutritional Therapist, my aim is to help you understand and address potential nutritional deficiencies and imbalances which may be affecting your health, peak performance and individual care. I use a wide variety of functional nutritional tools, including dietary assessment, functional testing such as stool, allergy and hormone testing, symptom analysis and lifestyle assessment. All of these combined enable me to create a bespoke plan to suit your individual needs.

This approach allows me to work with individuals to address nutritional balance and help support your body and mind towards maintaining health.

Nutritional therapy is ideal for most people, including those with chronic conditions, as well as those looking to enhance their health and wellbeing for maximum performance and optimal wellness. All that I ask is that you’re prepared to commit to changes to your diet – don’t worry I’ll create you a bespoke plan that suits your individual dietary preferences, lifestyle and cooking ability. But I do ask that you are committed to making change – so that I can support you towards optimal health, long term.

As a Nutritional Therapist, I consider every client’s individual needs to be unique, and recommend personalized nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. My aim is to coach you to success – even if that means you need a bit more support to keep you on track. Every person is different – and I’ll tailor your strategy and level of support to suit your individual needs.

My name is Catherine Jeans DipION mBANT CNHC, The Family Nutrition Expert. I’m a fully qualified and highly experienced Nutritional Therapist, Author and Speaker specialising in family health. Through my years in practice I have coached over 1300 clients and I am now one of the most experienced and sought after nutritional therapists in the UK.

My goal is to help you to eat well for life and my passion lies in the belief that the right food can do amazing things for us. I’m lucky enough to work with 1,000s of clients globally whilst retaining my practise here locally in Norwich, Norfolk.

Alongside my practise I have invested time authoring several online nutrition E-courses which echo so much of what I discuss in my consultations. I want to be able to share my knowledge and guidance across a platform that makes online nutrition accessible for everyone. These courses cover a plethora of information focusing on making changes for life and making good nutrition normal for your family.

I graduated from the highly acclaimed Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London and am a fully qualified, insured and registered nutritional therapist. In addition, I also hold professional certificates in NLP and Life coaching. I am a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, the UK regulator for complementary health care practitioners.

Alongside my private work, I also support The Spire Hospital’s Bariatric Unit. Here I give patients who have had gastric bands and sleeves professional dietary advice and nutritional support, to help them achieve optimum health, wellbeing and weight management. I also offer Nutrition workshops for Norfolk’s cancer charity, The Big C.

I also support many organisations around the UK with nutrition training and advice – from large corporations to foster care agencies and schools.

Through my clinical experience and further training I have a specialist interest in the following areas:

• Weight management
• Hormonal conditions such as thyroid and adrenal health, PMS and PCOS
• Stress, burnout and exhaustion
• Children’s health from babies to teenagers
• Digestive problems and allergies/intolerances
• Dietary support for cancer
• Fertility, pre-conceptual care, pregnancy and post-natal recovery
• Plant based diets and lifestyles

I offer private consultation packages in clinic or via my online clinic, varying from 1 month to ongoing monthly appointments. Usually we’ll start with an hour consultation, with follow ups usually around 45 minutes.

If I’m arranging functional testing for you, then we may need a longer appointment or 2 separate appointments to cover your results.

I typically work with people of all ages and backgrounds. All I’m asking is that you are motivated and committed to making change. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure we come up with a program that’s realistic and achievable with lots of practical suggestions on how to achieve your goals.

In a typical first consultation, I will assess your current diet, lifestyle, symptoms and health history and talk you through the nutritional strategy we will be using to address any imbalances you may have. I will also discuss with you whether any functional testing may be appropriate and organise this for you. I’ll begin you with just a few changes after the first appointment, before I see you again for your follow up. Here’s where the work begins – and I’ll create a bespoke plan of dietary, lifestyle and nutritional recommendations and coach you on how to achieve these in your daily life. You’ll receive a report after each consultation, which will include meal ideas, recommendations and recipes if needed. If nutritional supplements are required, I will also put these in your report.

My mantra is: that I am here for the long term, to support your journey to living and eating well, providing that important motivation that so many of us need to stay on the right path.

If we are working one to one, often I will feel it right to support and understand the unique needs of my clients with functional testing. These are used to determine underlying issues and to aid decision making concerning diet and lifestyle, supplements and wellbeing. I work with a number of leading laboratories around the globe, and handpick the tests which are most appropriate to you. I will then work with you to manage your results and help you make the appropriate changes to support any underlying imbalances. Here are some of the most common functional tests I use are:

• Comprehensive stool analysis and parasitology
• Food intolerance and sensitivity testing, allergy testing
• Female hormone testing
• Adrenal stress index
• Thyroid testing
• Vitamin D deficiency, full nutrient analysis
• Hair mineral analysis
