Hypnotherapy Norwich

Hypnotherapy is a powerful type of complementary and alternative medicine that uses a combination of hypnosis and therapy to help deal with a variety of problems that include breaking bad habits and phobias, and coping with stress, anxiety and panic attacks.

Hypnosis is a state of focus concentration and relaxation in which you are neither fully awake nor fully asleep. In hypnosis your mind becomes open to new ideas and new suggestions, changing the way you think, the way you feel and ultimately, the way you behave.

A hypnotherapist will listen to you, to fully understand what changes you are looking to achieve, before discussing and agreeing a treatment plan with you. Hypnosis will be explained fully to you.

It is important for you to know that hypnosis is not mind control, nor about being asleep or unconscious. Contrary to many common preconceptions you will not be ‘under’!

Hypnosis is about changing your unconscious mind which is where all your fears, phobias, bad habits and limiting beliefs are stored. You will remain fully aware of your surroundings and most clients experience a profound state of enjoyable, deep relaxation.

Hypnotherapy has been found to be highly effective in dealing with a vast array of issues such as stress, anxiety and panic attacks, obsessive compulsive (OCD) and generalised anxiety (GAD) disorders, fears and phobias, sleep difficulties, weight loss (including Virtual Gastric Band), self-esteem and self-confidence and eliminating bad habits and addictions (including Quit Smoking and drug addictions) and so much more.

Hypnotherapy sessions usually last approximately 1 hour. Some hypnotherapists will offer 90 minute sessions.

In some cases such as ‘Quit Smoking’ a session may take longer and this will be discussed with the hypnotherapist in advance.

Hypnotherapy can often be a relatively short process. This will depend on you as an individual and the complexity of your presenting issue. Some issues such as Quit Smoking, some phobias, minor confidence issues and general relaxation could be resolved in as few as 1 or 2 sessions. Most clients find that after 3 or 4 sessions they can be back on track with new found confidence and a sense of wellbeing.

The proposed number of sessions will be discussed in advance with the hypnotherapist and reviewed after every session.

Initial 30 minute consultations are free.
